North Market Field Trip

The 1D Diamonds had so much fun exploring the North Market! First graders used a North Market passport to guide them on their adventure. Thanks to all North Market vendors for  welcoming our first graders!  Vendors stamped passports as students visited many of the shops in the North Market. The children were also expected to discover the answer to a question that could only be found at the various locations. For example, students were asked to list two unusual flavors of ice cream found at Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, they had to find out the French word for waffle at Taste of Belgium, they needed to write down the names of three places where The Fish Guys get their seafood, they were asked to provide the name of a spice sold at Flavors of India, and much more. The students were quite goal driven and they tried to get to each location in the short time allowed. A big THANK  YOU to all parent chaperones. We would not have been able to do this trip without your help! Having lots of adult help meant that we were able to have small groups for the scavenger hunt activity.
