Little Red Hen Day

We had a fun Little Red Hen Day! ~ The 1D Diamonds read several versions of The Little Red Hen (including one that was an iPad app), completed a LRH fill-in-the-blank paper, and noticed word endings in LRH books (hen - en, cat -at, duck - uck, quack - ack, etc.) Of course the kids loved our connection to Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza - we made biscuit pizzas as a yummy treat! We even wrote the steps to making a biscuit pizza. We are learning that there are many reasons to write, and one important reason to write is to tell someone else how to do something.
