Animal Research

We are doing a Jan Brett author study. We noticed that Jan Brett includes lots of animals in her books. Each 1D student is researching an animal. This book display shows the books we used in our research. We are noticing things found in non-fiction books: captions, photographs, bold print, table of contents, glossary, etc.

Ms. Oeth is helping with our research. She taught us about using notecards to get our ideas down on paper. We will turn these ideas into sentences for our animal projects. We looked for four main facts about our animal: what it eats, where it lives, what it looks like, and any special features about the animal.
