Chinese Storyteller

We have been making connections between last year's study of China and the first grade unit on Japan. Mrs. Warstler's class invited us to join her students in listening to a Chinese storyteller. This was a great way to introduce kamishibai - a Japanese art of storytelling. These storytellers use a series of picture cards to tell a story.  We enjoyed reading The Kamishibai Man and we watched a short video explaining this traditional way of telling stories in Japan. We compared and contrasted these two different ways of telling stories.
