Japanese Field Trip

Yum! CA First Graders enjoyed a delicious lunch at Akai Hana Restaurant. First graders practiced using chopsticks and they tasted some traditional Japanese foods. Many students were surprised to find that they liked the egg sushi :-) Of course the chicken teriyaki, rice, and noodle soup were all popular with the kids as well. Lunch was followed by shopping at Hana Gifts and Tensuke Market. The children completed a scavenger hunt, searching for items such as geta, Japanese fans, beckoning cat figurines, sushi, and other items we have been learning about during the Japan unit. THANK  YOU to all field trip chaperones! Check out the slideshow below for some photos from our trip.
